Hello Again!!

Bringing you to yet another post on the IKEBANA topic as stated in my past article, where I spoke about showcasing my other works...So, here are some of my Flower Arrangements :)

These are the Sogetsu Ikebana school forms.

(To know more about IKEBANA go ahead and check my BLOG )

I study two forms of Ikebana, that is - Nageire Style and Moribana Style.

1. This is the NAGEIRE style of Ikebana -

Generally this style is arranged in a tall ceramic vase called the Kabin (花瓶) or ( かびん) in Japanese.

Also, there are several rules within the same kind of arrangement.

This is the Upright style of Nageire.

Materials Used:

Container: Ceramic Kabin/Vase

Materials: Chrysanthemums, Raspberry Plant.

2. The same NAGEIRE style of Ikebana.

If you notice this is a reverse style of the Nageire, the taller main stem is on your right side, whereas, in the first arrangement, the main stem is on your left.

This type of arrangement is called the Reverse Upright Style Nageire.

Container: Blue Ceramic Kabin/ Vase

Materials: Chrysanthemums, Japanese Clethra.

3. The similar NAGEIRE style of Ikebana.

Experimenting with different kinds of Vase and Materials.

You should pay equal attention in choosing the right color, style of your Vase suiting your surroundings that plays a very important role in the overall look and feel of the place and design.

Container: Ceramic Kabin/Vase

Materials: Daffodils, Cherry Blossom Plant.

Coming to the other style of Ikebana...

4. The MORIBANA Style.

This is generally arranged in a flat type container called Suiban.

This type takes a little larger area , as the arrangement is a bit wider that the Nageire style, Nageire takes up the height of the space , whereas the Moribana takes the width of the space… so choose your arrangement style wisely depending upon the type of area you are provided.

Materials: Snap Dragon Flowering Plant, Pussy Willow (the fur of this plant is like cat’s fur, Interesting!!)

Container: Plastic Suiban, Kenzan.

5. Another Moribana Style -

Variations with Plants and style of the Container.

As mentioned earlier, choose the best and suitable container, and plants for your arrangement. One can switch styles according to their choice, but, keep in mind every little detail about how and where to place it.

So folks, hope you had a nice time viewing some of my Ikebana Works.

I too enjoy making them. I may add a few more pictures soon, so stay linked.

Well, it would be great if this article inspires you in creating such a feature for your homes or living spaces. Have a great time making one for yourself.

All the best.

See you in my next article.

Till then, keep it Beautiful..!!!
