The IZU PENINSULA:

The Izu peninsula (伊豆半島 Izu-hantō) is a large mountainous peninsula with coasts to the west of Tokyo on the Pacific coast of the island of Honshu, Japan.

As it is a peninsula, Izu has a collection of places to offer... you can choose one among many destinations around ….from beaches to onsens, to hiking and suspension bridges, to cruising and walking around the cliffs...and so on ….

Here I will introduce you to some of the parts of Izu -

So now let’s talk about The Jogasaki Coast in this article-

so what place is this exactly?

Well, this is Gods very own mighty way of saying that beauty still exists in this world.

Yes, you read it right, welcome to the beautiful cliffs, hiking trails (surrounded by forest - a semi-tropical rain forest), picturesque light house, not to forget the 23 meter long and 48 meter high Kadowakizaki Suspension Bridge and gushing blue waters all around.

Now who wouldn’t want to go here???

We had a great time exploring this spectacular place.

– starting with getting there:

From Tokyo station there are many ways you can reach one of the midpoints of the Izu Peninsula that is the Ito Station – By Shinkansen, Limited Express Odoriko, if you have a car just navigate through it and you can be there.

From Ito Station you can take a train by Izu kyuko Line to Jogasaki Kaigan Station…which should take about 20 minutes only. !!

From Jogasaki Kaigan station you can take a beautiful 15 minutes’ walk to the Jogasaki Coast, or hire a cab. We enjoyed walking to the coast; the roads were filled with trees and beautiful houses!

And once you have arrived at the destination – start your exploration, since you might not be able to decide where to start from by seeing the overwhelming surroundings -plan an itinerary for better time management … Haha!!
